2013년 8월 18일, 국제도서관연맹(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, IFLA)는 트렌드 리포트를 발표했다. 끊임없이 변화하는 글로벌 정보환경에 맞춰, 어떻게 정보에 액세스 하고 그 이득을 취할 수 있는지에 대한 내용과 함께 새로운 기술개발, 온라인 교육, 프라이버시 등에 대해 다루고 있으며, 미래의 정보생태계에 있어 핵심적인 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 지원하고자 하는 다섯 단계의 트렌드이다. 리포트는 다음과 같다.
