CHORUS (Clearinghouse for the Open Research of the United States) 는 CHOR주식회사의 조직 중 하나로 미국 국세청으로부터 승인받은 비영리단체이다. 이러한 승인은 한 자선단체가 공익을 위해 조직되고 운영되고 있음을 보증하는 엄격한 기준을 충족하고 있음을 의미한다. 2010년 미국 경쟁력강화법과 2013년 2월 미국 과학기술국 정책 지침 이후, 출판 단체는 연구지원금을 받는 학술 출판을 늘리기 위해 연방 정부기관이나 그 외 이해관계자들과 긴밀한 관계를 유지해오고 있다. CHORUS는 CrossRef FundRef 의 강력한 인프라를 기반으로 설립되었고, 이러한 공동협력을 바탕으로 성장해왔으며, 다음 단계로 나아가기 위해 노력하고 있다. 전세계의 온라인 학술 논문으로의 참조 연결을 가능하게 하는 기관인 CrossRef는 CHORUS 서비스의 중요한 제공자이자 개발 및 관리의 핵심적인 자문역할을 수행한다. CHORUS의 주축은 비영리단체, 상업 출판사, 관련 기술 및 자원 업체나 기관들이다. 이미 100여개의 CHORUS에 공식 서명한 기관들이 공동협력하여 미국 연구지원 논문의 대부분을 생산하고 있다.
