Korea has many interesting folksong. The is one of the traditional song. And the song (皐皐天邊) is also one of the . As you know, the function of is the prelude before playing the . This paper's aim is to research the existence and the feature of composition, change of function of . To study the aspect of existence of text, this paper standarized the text by using the text which is in old music book, 『Gumbo』. As the result, every text was composed varietally. Another words, there are many versions by the contents. But all of the versions have a formulaic words. And there were distinctive features between the texts for song and reading. For example, read text has many descriptions in detail for understanding texts easily. But sung text has simple descriptions for easing song. was changed in the field of function as time goes by. At first, in the late of 18C and the early of 19C, it acted by prelude of . But it has another functions because of the days became complicated. So was sung as Gasa, Japga, Minyo. This aspects can be explained by that ; Especially in the 19th century, Chosun dynasty faced to the complicated culture. Music and literature fields also met a new circumstance. High and low level culture approached from one to another and made a new culture called folk culture. In these aspects, but the text of changed a little according the Genres. Some texts added more contexts, some was drop to short. At first, by the text of Gasa genre, has two types, and . the former was more approached to the amusements to sing a beautiful landscapes, the latter was more closed to the Genre of 'Youngsan'(靈山) branched from the 'Youngsanhoisang'(靈山會相) Some texts recorded by phonograph in the early of 21th century. It means became a independent song from a prelude of Pansori. Specially great singer, Song, man-gap made record this song three times. And is sung by low class people still now. Field worker recorded eight texts in the rural district. These people who provided texts are over 70 years old. And they learned this song by the music books so called 'Japga'(雜歌). And this was mainly recorded in the south province because this song was classified and known as south area Japga by the professional singer. But as a traditional folksong, contents of became to simple and misrepresent in words. |
