OLR Characteristics in Xinjiang and the Abnormal Phenomena before Strong Earthquakes

초록 | Using the Outgoing Longwave Radiation ( OLR ) data of NOAA satellite from the National Center of Environmental Prediction (NCEP) of U. S. A. , the monthly distance average and eddy field calculation are done, and the main characteristics of OLR field in Xinjiang are summarized. By analyzing the abnor- mal phenomena before moderate and strong earthquakes since 2003, it is found that high anomalous values appered very close to the epicenter regions before some of earthquakes. It is considered that this feature is related to the change of earth - atmosphere system before strong earthquakes. Applying OLR data to earthquake prediction can remedy shortage of the precursor station in Xinjiang. |
