Objectives : This study's purpose was to compare demographic data, sleep problems, sleep parameters of the ADHD group with them of the control group. Methods : Target of this study were the ADHD group composed of 93 children of 6 to 12 years old and the control group of 93 age- and sex-matched children. Parents of both groups answered the demographic and sleep questionnaire, sleep diary, Modified Version of the Tucson Children's Assessment of Sleep Apnea questionnaire. Results : Total education duration spent by the parents of ADHD children was shorter than control's. The school performance of the ADHD group was poorer than that of the control group. In lifestyle factors, the ADHD group went to more private institutes than the control group. The control group spent more time to play computer games. There was no difference in sleep parameter and sleep problem, except sleep latency which was longer in the ADHD group. Conclusion : ADHD children showed inefficient day time activity and resistance to sleep due to their behaviors. But there was no different sleep parameter caused by the Korean social-cultural characters. |
