The Multi Angle Light Scattering (MALS) system calculates absolute average molecular weight of sample using multi-angle light scattering detectors. Each detector detects the sample in continuous flow from separation system such as gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC). Absolute molecular weight, size, conformation, molecular weight distribution, and polydispersity index (PDI) value are acquired from this system without making any assumption. From the results of MALS system, we can understand the relationship between the molecular weight of polymer and its effect in biomedical applications. |
