1. PARTIESANDPURPOSE This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes an agreement between the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) and the Physical Measurements Laboratory, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), U.S. Department of Commerce, through which KRISS will pay NISTfor one flex-packaged 10V Programmable Josephson Voltage Standard (PJVS) chip and one cryoprobe in which this chip can be inserted and cooled in a liquid helium dewar. 2. BACKGROUND As Korea?s national measurement institute, KRISS provides traceable measurements and maintains their nation?s electrical standards. Dr. Mun-seog Kim of KRISS has constructed a PJVS system and requires a superconducting integrated circuit and matching cryoprobe from NIST to extend its operation to 10V. The NIST chip and probe will enable KRISS to calibrate a wide range of commercial electronics and voltage standard references. NIST Programmable Josephson Voltage Standard chips are the core component in PJVS systems becaus |
